How the Dow Jones industrial average and other indexes fared Thursday
Washington Post The Dow Jones industrial average rose 123.13 points, or 1 percent, to 12904.08. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 14.81 points, or 1.1 percent, to 1358.04. The Nasdaq composite index rose 44.02 points, or 1.5 percent, to 2959.85.
