How the Dow Jones industrial average fared
Kansas City Star U.S. stocks inched higher Thursday even as hopes faded for a pre-Christmas deal on the fiscal cliff. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 59.75 points, or 0.5 percent, to 13,311.72. The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 7.88, or 0.6 percent, to 1,443.69. |
