Dow, S&P 500 plunge 1.4% in final minutes
USA TODAY Benchmark stock indexes sank Friday afternoon after climbing earlier in the day. The Dow Jones industrial average closed down 208.96 points, 1.4%, to 15,115.57, and the Standard & Poor's 500 index plunged 23.67 points, 1.4%, to close at 1,630.74.
